A New Place

The powerful flames caught all of the soldiers off guard, causing the two lesser soldiers to let go of the poachers briefly, allowing them to run to their cart for their weapons. The flames caught on the knight's tabard, forcing him to tear it off as it was consumed. The spot on his armor where most of the attack connected was glowing slightly red as it absorbed the heat, causing pain as the heat burned his skin slightly through it. The pain caused by the burn was enough for the knight to shout out, not any words in particular, but it was a loud exclamation to be sure.

In response to the attack, the knight kicked at the mouse pokemon with his boot to knock Skully off of her balance long enough to get in an attack with the sword.

Lusen tried to assist with an absorb attack, focusing on the spot where the knight was damaged before to drain some energy from it. The iron armor obstructed most of the attack, but the attack still managed to weaken him slightly.

Meanwhile, the poachers managed to retrieve their weapons; a short sword for the leaner one, and a hammer for the larger of the pair. They squared off against the soldiers, about evenly matched while armed.

Skully was fell back at the kick, her flames diminished. She glanced up, and would have been struck by the knights sword had it not been for Lusen's Absorb. Skully quickly stood up and jumped back, in defense position beside the poachers.

Skully stood by, ready to keep on fighting. Even though it would take a while for her to charge up Flame Wheel again. She waved her tail back in forth in a silent Tail Whip. She was ready to help the two poachers out, after all they had helped Lusen and herself out. Skully dashed forward with Quick Attack, the Kitty Glove's claws sharp and hot from her Flame Wheel. She was aiming with the claws for the Knights weak spot, hoping to give him a hefty wound.

The knight's armor had cooled somewhat since the flame wheel attack, leaving only black marks where the flames had scorched it. The metal of the armor had blocked most of the damage from the claw attack, leaving a gash in the armor but not quite piercing deep enough to wound the knight further. The impact itself pushed him back slightly, he was upset that two tiny pokemon were giving him more difficulty than two grown men.

"Urgh! Blasted beasts!" One hand covering the break in his armor, the knight swung his sword at Skully with the other.

The soldiers fighting against the poachers were slowly gaining the upper hand as they were better trained in combat than their opponents.

The knight is still in fighting form, the armor on his torso is heavily damaged by the fire and the claw attack.

Using her speed, Skully ducked out of the way of the sword. She began to Quick Attack in circle around him, hoping to confuse him. She stoped when she was behind him, and jumped at his back with Tackle. Hoping to knock him down and finish him off.

Lusen attempted to help the poachers with an Absorb on the two soldiers. He wanted to weaken them by Absorbing there energy so the poachers could finish them off.

The knight couldn't follow your movements and closed his eyes to prevent himself from becoming dizzy. Instructed in the ways of combat, the knight knew the best place to strike a man is his back, and placed one of his feet in front of him to stabilize himself against an attack from behind. The quick attack connected, but was repelled by the armor, damaging it some. He turned as quickly as he could to strike you with his sword, also attempting to grab you with his free hand to hold you still long enough to land a hit.

Meanwhile, Lusen's absorb attack weakened the soldier who was fighting the smaller poacher enough for him to swing more weakly with his sword, which was parried and counter-attacked, leaving a gash in the soldier's left arm. No longer at the advantage, the soldiers were beginning to show slight signs of fear mixed with signs of great anger as the second soldier overpowered the large poacher, managing to put a large cut on the man's cheek.

With such a commotion going on in the street, it is only a matter of time before guards come in to investigate.

The knight missed Skully by an inch, and she let out an angry rodent like hiss. Skully wished she could control Flame Wheel at a time like this. Her body was still warm from the last Flame Wheel but it couldn't charge up after releasing that last one. Skully used another silent Tail Whip, and jumped for another Quick Attack/Claw combo at the gash in his armor! I cut through the armor earlier, another hit should peirce his skin!

Lusen tried another Absorb, getting too close could mean certain injury. He continued using Absorb over and over to help the Poachers finish off the gaurds.

The claw attack pierced through the damaged armor and deeply cut into the knight's stomach, critically wounding him. An unexpected complication to this was that the claws were stuck in the armor and would take time to remove. The knight took the opportunity to make a grab at Skully's neck so that he could end her with his sword before bleeding out.

Lusen's subtle assistance was working well in giving the poachers the upper hand as the two men began to overpower the soldiers. Giving in to fear, the two soldiers flee the battle and run towards the forest and were pursued briefly by the poachers before they gave up the chase and began heading back to their cart.

Skully struggled to free her paw, but it was stuck in the Kitty Glove about as much as the Kitty Glove was stuck in the Knight. She struggled to get away, but was snatched by his hand choking her. She still feebily attempted escape, biteing into his hard armor. How Skully wished she had saved that Flame Wheel until now... She glared at the Knight in pure hate as he prepaired to make the blow with his sword.
Lusen, happy with his victory in helping the poachers finally noticed Skully struggle. In anger, he dashed forward at the Knight with a combined attack of Absorb and Pound, so it was like a weak Drain Punch.

The knight's attack was thrown off somewhat by the attack from behind, making his slash to only be a glancing blow Skully's body instead of hacking through her vitals as it was intended to. The grievous wounds on his body had taken their toll as the knight collapsed onto the ground. He lay on his back, using his last gasps of breath to curse the beasts that obstructed his carrying out of the kingdom's law.

The group of soldiers is defeated, awarding a total of 20 experience and 10 energy to Lusen and Skully!

The two poachers return to their cart and hastily throw their things into the back, "You saved us, you two! We gotta get out of here before the city guards see what happened!" The men took their cart and began quickly pulling it towards the forest again, not wanting to be seen at the scene of the crime.
